GE Digital and Wabtec have partnered to continue commercialisation of value-added applications such as Predix operations performance management (OPM) and Predix asset performance management (APM) solutions, in order to advance digital evolution in the mining industry.
The agreement builds on a successful partnership between GE Digital and GE Transportation, which is now a Wabtec company, to help mine sites link people, process, and technology in key regions such as South Africa and Australia.

The multi-year agreement between GE Digital and Wabtec provides continued support of GE Transportation’s existing mining installed base.
The collaboration is aimed at bringing measurable business outcomes for current users while opening doors for additional APM and OPM-driven opportunities with new customers across the mining industry.
GE Digital OPM product management VP Gerald Jackson said: “One of the highlights of this agreement is the exceptional mining-specific content we will be able to build into our applications.
“Through our partnership and shared expertise, we will continue to develop our mining analytic blueprints for OPM and APM, which will deliver significant time-to-value improvements across the mining space.”
The collaboration expects to see a growth over the next few years in the mining industry, as more number of customers seek additional OPM and APM cloud services.
