Every year, an estimated two million tonnes of Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) items are discarded by householders and companies in the UK and in Europe it is expected to grow to over 12 million tonnes by 2020.

Companies are now looking at recovering the valuable elements contained in the waste, which has the added advantage of less harmful waste sent to landfill. Salter Cyclones was first approached in 2013 by a client needing to be able to demonstrate a recycling technology before it was replicated in plants throughout Europe.
