BHP Billiton's BECSA Khutala coal mine in South Africa's Mpumalanga province has 14 coal cutting sections in its room and pillar operation.

As one of the company's larger underground mines, Khutala required a production management system that was integrated, flexible and robust enough to manage all operations in the entire process, as well as tracking material movements.
