Creating a good culture at mining and workforce sites is key to ensuring miners are happy, productive and engaged. Showing live sporting events on Foxtel in communal areas is a great way to bring the workforce together and help them switch off from their long shifts in a social environment.

One way to build culture is to provide activities for workers outside of their shifts. Showing live sporting events on Foxtel in communal areas is a great way to bring the workforce together and help them switch off from their long shifts in a social environment.

The next few months are packed with great sport that can be shown in the wet mess and common areas. On Thursday 2 March the NRL returns with a longer 27-round season and, with games on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as well as some Thursday and Monday games, there’s plenty of action to keep workers entertained. Foxtel has every game of every round of the 2023 Telstra NRL Premiership live on FOX LEAGUE.

A couple of weeks later, it’s the turn of the AFL as the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season kicks off on Thursday 16 March. This year, the season will be a week longer with the introduction of an additional round in place of a pre-season game. Foxtel has every game of every round of the 2023 Telstra NRL Premiership live on FOX FOOTY.

The Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place this year on Sunday 2 April and mine sites can show the race in their communal areas in stunning 4K with Foxtel’s Business iQ.

On Main Event, UFC 286 sees the hotly anticipated welterweight trilogy between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman on Sunday 19 March. On 2-3 April the WWE’s Wrestlemania will be screened on Foxtel’s new 24/7 WWE channel which is a first for Foxtel venues as it means the event is included as part of a Foxtel Business subscription.

Foxtel’s Business iQ product enables mine sites to promote downtime activities using the TV screens in workforce accommodation rooms. The on-screen messaging service can be used to flash up a message while workers are watching TV in their room to let them know what sporting fixtures will be shown in the wet mess, or alternatively, they can upload the wet mess schedule to the information tab on the Business iQ interface.

Often though, workers will want to relax in their room after their day on site and having access to a huge range of premium channels, from entertainment to documentaries to movies, means there’s something to suit every taste. Plus with on-demand access to a huge library containing over 20,000 hours of content and the ability to cast their own streaming apps, they’ll never be stuck for something to watch.
