Micronics, manufacturer of filter presses, filter plates, and filter cloths used for mine tailings, gold/ silver, and mineral concentrate, has accepted contracts in excess of US$33.5 million dollars in the first quarter of 2011. The orders cover Ishigaki’s fully automatic LASTA MC filter press for tailings applications and Micronics semi-automatic filters, used for tailings and in the Merrill Crowe process.
Micronics CEO, Barry Hibble stated, “the company has seen explosive growth in 2010 and the first quarter of 2011, particularly in the mining sector, but there has been an indication that all industry sectors we service are rapidly investing in expansion or new installations.”
The company’s filter cloth operation is equally busy, and large machines create new demands to develop special designs to extend the operating life and performance of our filter cloth. Recent fabric developments have resulted in operating life exceeding seven times the replaced filter cloth, with additional performance improvements that benefit the filter operations.
Micronics supplies filter plates and filter cloth for their own machines as well as other manufacturers; and the synergy of this associated product range gives Micronics the knowledge and support capabilities specifically required for pressure filtration applications. Hibble says “this is an unusual combination of product knowledge, each affecting the other which creates strong interconnected solutions, resulting in an improvement in the overall filtering process for our customers.”
