Application Overview

Reservoir trucks play a vital role in managing sprinkler systems. These trucks are refilled at strategic points using a mechanical setup with a pipe, known as the filling system. Typically, this water refilling process is manual, lacking capacity control and traceability. As the trucks travel through the mine, they spray water to suppress dust, adhering to environmental protection standards.

Objective

The primary objective is to ensure that reservoir trucks are filled with water according to their specific capacity. The challenge is to minimize water wastage and establish better control over water consumption. Equipment used must be resilient against iron ore dust, sunlight, water, and other harsh mining conditions.

Proposed Solution

An ideal solution involves detecting the presence of a water truck with the UB*-30GM ultrasonic sensor and identifying it with the F192 RFID read/write device. The RFID sensor reads data from the UHF tag on the truck’s tank and sends this information to the controller. The controller then communicates with the supplier’s flow transmitter, ensuring the precise amount of water is dispensed according to the truck’s capacity. The F192 sensor, with its six-meter read range and switchable antenna polarization, offers flexibility in truck positioning. Preassembled function blocks facilitate easy integration into existing systems.
