Netzsch provides an assessment and advice service, which has benfitted many client’s projects.
African mining company was suffering extreme wear on a pump installed on an abrasive powder slurry. The local supplier did not offer service or fast enough provision of spare parts, leaving the customer to deal with the situation.
Netzsch technicians carried out an assessment and persuaded the company to switch to a NEMO® progressing cavity pump. Due to the special design of the screw conveyor, they suggested a pump that keeps the solid particles in the slurry in suspension. It is also less susceptible to the abrasive effects of the medium because of the choice of wear resistant materials for the pumping elements and a flushed cartridge seal. The additional dry running protector also gives the system a greater process reliability, in comparison to the previously installed pump. Maintenance intervals increased from six weeks to six months with the new pump and the maintenance time itself was reduced because of the pump’s more maintenance-friendly design.
The customer was impressed by both the competence in the design of the pump and also the complete after-sales service and plans to replace their old pumps with Netzsch pumps step by step.
Netzsch trains staff on-site, offers ongoing technical support and keeps all critical spare parts stocked on-site and at their office.
