Ingeniería y Consultoría en Recursos del Subsuelo (CRS Ingeniería) is an independent engineering and consulting company that specialises in the study and management of underground resources.

We provide clients with technical support in mining exploration, mining, geotechnics, geostatistics, hydrology and hydrogeology, environment and land management, underground storage and waste management.

CRS Ingeniería works for mining companies, cement producers, consultancies and companies related to the global energy sector.

Our services cover the entire project lifecycle, ranging from exploration to mine closures, and comply with the international standards such as Pan-European Reserves and Resources Reporting Committee (PERC), Australia’s Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC), and National Instrument 43-101.

Mining exploration services

CRS Ingeniería develops a wide range of activities in the field of geology and mineral exploration. These include quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC), the control and interpretation of drilling campaigns, and geological surveys and mapping.

We also perform specialised surveys in structural geology, geochemical prospecting, 2D and 3D campaign interpretations, modelling deposits and mineral resources assessment.

CRS Ingeniería has comprehensive experience in multi-element geochemical prospecting for mining exploration and environmental characterisation, the interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic surveys for evaporite basin exploration, as well as exploration campaigns for metallic and industrial minerals.

Mining-specific assessments and studies

CRS Ingeniería performs an array of activities that focus on mining applications.

These include mineral resources and reserves assessments, feasibility studies, asset valuations, due diligence, project evaluations, conceptual projects of open pit and underground mines, exploitation methods, and open pit to underground mine transitions.

Geotechnical surveys and studies

CRS Ingeniería’s geotechnical service includes mapping, on-site characterisation, rock mass characterisation, project management assistance and modelling using specialised software.

We also perform stability surveys of slopes, embankments and underground excavations, foundations and geological hazards, as well as studies related to subsidence and liquefaction potential.

Geostatistic capabilities

CRS Ingeniería’s experienced team of statisticians and geostatisticians is supported by state-of-the-art software to provide a high value-to-data of geological, geochemical, mining and environmental analysis.

Hydrology and hydrogeology services

CRS Ingeniería performs hydrological and hydrogeological surveys, hydrogeological modelling for mining projects, and water management plans.

These studies include the determination of hydrogeological parameters in permeable and low permeability rocks, hydrogeochemistry, drainage design, and aquifer protection.

We also undertake studies related to water flow rate exploitation, resource assessment, quality management, aquifer operation and management, and evaluation of potential contamination sources.

Environmental management studies

CRS Ingeniería performs environmental studies and monitoring plans related to the mining sector.

These include land plans for mining resources and rehabilitation projects, geochemical prospecting for environmental characterisation, environmental impact assessments (EIAs), environmental monitoring, guidelines for projects and facilities, risk analysis, administrative procedures and environmental authorisations follow-ups.

We perform studies for contaminated site characterisation and complete projects related to the management of solid and liquid waste such as waste characterisation, diagnosis of contaminated soils and groundwater, and landfill projects.

Underground storage projects

CRS Ingeniería is experienced in projects related to the use of natural or artificial structures for underground storage applications.

We perform a wide range of activities, including geological and hydrogeological characterisation of low permeability media, characterisation of natural and artificial underground structures, site selection, storage projects in underground structures.

Raw materials experience

CRS Ingeniería has experience in the exploration, evaluation and exploitation of mineral raw materials, including:

  • Metallic minerals: gold, copper, zinc, lead, mercury, tungsten, tin-tantalum, lithium, iron ore, manganese and uranium
  • Industrial minerals: potash, salt, glauberite, gypsum, magnesite, Celestine, fluorite, silicon metal, dunites, special clays and silica sands, asphaltic rocks
  • Raw materials for construction: cement, aggregates and dimension stones

Quality assurance

We perform all studies and projects under the environmental management system in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 14001: 2015 regulation.

Quality enhancement and maintenance is one of the basic objectives of CRS Ingeniería, according to UNE-EN ISO 9001: 2015 regulation pertaining to the quality management system. The environmental and quality management systems are certified by the Spanish Association for Standardization (AENOR).
