For nearly eight decades, Martin Engineering has been a stalwart in championing cleaner, safer, and more efficient operations. We have undertaken important commitments to environmental, social, and corporate governance sustainability best practices, which we at Martin Engineering call the Martin Stewardship Program.

The Martin Stewardship Program embodies a legacy of values inspired by the company’s founder, Edwin F. Peterson, and is rooted in an unwavering dedication to enhancing productivity while fostering sustainability across all facets of our operations. It serves as a testament to the ongoing pursuit of safety, efficiency, and productivity improvements, both within our organization and for our partners, customers, families, and broader society.

A pivotal step in this initiative is the introduction of our groundbreaking Foundations™ book. This comprehensive work compiles industry-leading safety practices designed to aid customers in understanding their operations better, reducing material loss, waste, and, most crucially, ensuring the safety of their workforce.

Environment and Martin Stewardship

Underlining our dedication to environmental sustainability is our Belt Cleaner Martin® EcoSafe™ – Primary Belt Cleaner and Secondary Belt Cleaner. This innovative solution significantly reduces environmental impact through enhanced blade utilization, resulting in a 35% reduction in polyurethane waste. Additionally, the aluminum structures are designed for reusability, aligning with the company’s global efforts to recycle 302,000 kilograms of steel, with the United States contributing 140,000 kilograms, along with recycling 29,500 kilograms of aluminum, 14,000 kilograms of stainless steel, 900 kilograms of plastic, and 3,702 kilograms of paper annually.

Social Aspects of Martin Stewardship

As part of our commitment to societal progress, Martin Engineering actively engages in community-centric initiatives. From aiding in environmental projects during natural disasters to collaborating with local non-profit organizations for recycling initiatives, our endeavors also extend to employee-centric programs such as blood donation campaigns and well-being initiatives.

Responsible Governance within Martin Stewardship

Diversity and transparency form the cornerstone of Martin’s governance framework. Ensuring diverse board compositions with a minimum 33% female participation and engaging external auditors to oversee corporate practices are key facets of Martin Engineering’s commitment to responsible governance.

We recognize that as leaders, we bear the responsibility to pave the way for a better future. The Martin Stewardship Program embodies our resolve to make a meaningful impact on the world around us.
