Lungscreen, a leading advocate for respiratory health, was honoured to support the recent Respiratory Health Surveillance Queensland (RSHQ) B-reader Summit on March 4, 2024, in Brisbane.
This groundbreaking summit, facilitated by esteemed experts Dr. Catherine Jones, Dr. Bob Cohen, and Lungscreen Managing Director Dr. Siavash Es’haghi, provided invaluable insights and training for B-readers registered with RSHQ under the Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme, as well as those participating in mineral mine and quarries (MMQ) reporting in Queensland.
The summit boasted a comprehensive agenda, including lectures, interactive forums, and hands-on sessions focused on reviewing image quality approaches. Attendees received updates on reporting guidelines, gained insights into the process of HRCT reporting within surveillance programs, and had the opportunity to contribute to discussions about report templates.
Recognising the importance of continuous professional development, the summit also offers attendees the opportunity to earn continuing professional development (CPD) hours. Additionally, Radiology Australia New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) members were able to claim 6 hours of “participation in other Clinical Governance Activities”, applicable to reviewing performance and measuring and improving outcomes. The summit opened to a limited number of radiographers involved in image acquisition, providing them with an invaluable opportunity to enhance their expertise in this critical area of healthcare.
