Due to the development of vacuum and pressure belt filter technology; there is an alternative to conventional tailing management called ‘dry stack’ filtered tailings.
Finsa R&D department has been working on two new lines of products specially designed for horizontal filter presses and vacuum filter presses used in the mine industry to help the development of tailing management.
These fabrics are made of polypropylene monofilament with a weight higher than 500gr/m². The filter cloths are made of a special polypropylene yarn that has a high resistance to abrasion, this characteristic implies a larger life of the filter cloths. For vacuum filter presses Finsa has designed a special double weave fabric with maximum width of 4500mm.
The market is very positive with these new Finsa developments.
