Five spur gear units from SGS Sonder Getriebe Service will be running in a Russian mineral processing plant in the future. As double unbalance exciters, they will drive the vibrating screens in the plant.
In the cold season the mineral processing plant in Siberia will have to operate at temperatures of up to -40°C. Even with these extreme temperatures, all components have to work reliably. For this purpose, the units were manufactured with special materials to ensure they will operate in harsh subzero temperatures.
Therefore, even at very low temperatures, the metal alloy gear units will not become brittle. This is a preventive measure against mechanical damage to the components that might result due to the extreme load and temperature fluctuations.
