Peter Schmid takes over as CEO at the Swedish mining company LKAB’s subsidiary Wassara AB from the September 1. He will be located at the head office in Stockholm, Sweden.

Peter has a Master of Science degree (MSc) in Industrial Engineering and Management and has more than 25 years of experience from industrial and international marketing and sales of different products towards different industries and markets segments.

During the last 12 years Peter has been with ITT Water & Wastewater, in different positions, focusing on the dewatering business serving mainly the construction and mining industries with submersible pumps, rental and other services. Since January 2010 Peter has been the vice president and director of Business Unit Dewatering, a $600m business with more than 1500 employees all around the globe.

Wassara AB is a sales and development company. With its patented water powered hammer, Wassara creates total solutions that lead the market in water-powered drilling. Wassara AB creates drilling solutions for the construction and mining markets.

The company was founded in 1988 and is owned by the Swedish mining company LKAB.
In 2010 the business recorded a turnover of €7.2m. Currently Wassara has 34 employees.
