Moventas is to supply mechanical power transmission equipment for drum pulpers manufactured by Andritz. This is Moventas’ largest single order for drum pulper ring gears. Start-up inspection services are also included, with deliveries scheduled for 2010. The value of the order will not be disclosed.
The Moventas delivery consists of 15 multi-segmented ring gears, each with a two-stage Santasalo® D-series gear unit and auxiliary drive gear. The agreement also includes start-up inspection services, which ensure the installation of the mechanical drives. The Moventas multi-segmented ring gears are for Andritz customers in China and Korea where the drum pulpers will be used to produce the raw material for recycled paper and board manufacturing.
