Leading pump company Watson-Marlow Pumps Group will showcase its enhanced range of positive displacement pump technologies at stand 5673 at the 2010 TOTAL Exhibition.
Following the recent acquisitions of aseptic filling and capping systems specialist Flexicon and sinusoidal pump company MasoSine, the Watson-Marlow Pumps Group has significantly strengthened its offering to the process and packaging machinery industries. The new pump portfolio will enhance end-user processes through reduced product damage, flow rates to 90m³/hr and pressures to 15bar, and minimal maintenance downtime, thereby delivering savings on process and equipment running costs.
The TOTAL show will see the company bring all elements of its business together for the first time at a UK exhibition. Visitors to Watson-Marlow’s stand will be able to see a range of products and solutions from five distinct parts of the Group.
Watson-Marlow MasoSine
Watson-Marlow MasoSine will be exhibiting pumps to handle shear-sensitive and variable viscosity products in food, toiletry/cosmetic, pharmaceutical and industrial applications. MasoSine positive displacement pumps are highly reliable and economical for sanitary and industrial applications. One rotor, one shaft and one seal ensure that users benefit from simple and low cost maintenance.
MasoSine pumps enable Watson-Marlow to increase its flow rate range and handle higher viscosities without shear or cavitation. Fully working models of the SPS range of pumps will be available to view on the stand.
Watson-Marlow Flexicon
Visitors from the pharmaceutical and diagnostic sectors will be interested in the aseptic liquid filling, plugging and crimp capping system from Watson-Marlow Flexicon. This technology is ideally suited to small to medium-sized batch production flexibility — from laboratory benchtop to clinic trial stage — where high precision and efficiency are required.
Watson-Marlow Flexicon has equipped its popular FPC50 automatic liquid filling, stoppering and capping system with a Wipotec weighing cell which provides 100% check weighing of all vials. The weighing cell is connected to the filling system and thus fully automatic recalibration of the filling pump during the entire batch is ensured. Able to deliver fill volumes ranging from 0.1ml to 100ml and a filling accuracy of ±0.5%, the technology is highly suited to applications involving small batches such as contract fillers and research and development trials.
Watson-Marlow Pumps
As the world’s largest manufacturer of peristaltic pumps and tubing, Watson-Marlow will also showcase its core technology at the TOTAL Show. Of particular interest to visitors from the process industries will be the world’s first Profibus-enabled cased peristaltic pumps. Rated to IP66, three Profibus-enabled units are now available. This recent development from Watson-Marlow puts less ‘distance’ between the pumps and the manufacturer’s control system. Users can benefit from significant cost savings due to the simplification of the integration and installation of the pump in to the process system.
Watson-Marlow Alitea
Experts from OEM pump division, Watson-Marlow Alitea will also be on hand to discuss OEM pump solutions which will save users money. Of particular interest is the new easy-loading, yet rugged low-flow 114 pumphead. Designers at Watson-Marlow Alitea have created the innovative 114 in response to calls for an advanced yet cost effective low flow pumphead in a compact configuration. For extra pumphead longevity, strong and high-performing materials are used to provide chemical resistance and outstanding temperature stability.
Watson-Marlow Bredel
A range of heavy-duty hose pumps for a range of process applications will also be on display from Watson-Marlow Bredel. The Bredel range of hose pumps can be found all over the world and in some of the most challenging pumping applications. With an impressive range of flow rates up to 80m³/hr and pressures up to 16bar, Watson-Marlow Bredel’s pumps are increasingly first choice for engineers in the process sectors, and in particular the water industry.
