Rajant Corporation, the pioneer of Kinetic Mesh Networks and provider of proven, multi-frequency mesh networking solutions, will showcase its Kinetic Mesh Networking solutions at the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum’s CIM 2013 Convention, being held May 5-8 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Ontario (Booth #2034).
Rajant’s solutions are based on the proven BreadCrumb® wireless, portable mesh networking nodes and InstaMesh® protocol which reliably provide data, video and voice communications in some of the largest and most productive open pit and underground mines in the world. Rajant BreadCrumb nodes, combined with InstaMesh® software enable continuous and instantaneous routing of wireless and wired connections. This dynamic frequency utilization capability allows for total network mobility – Kinetic Meshing. Rajant Kinetic Mesh networks are robust, and fault tolerant, while providing high throughput and low latency.
CIM conference attendees will have the opportunity to see all of Rajant’s flexible, scalable mesh networking solutions including their latest BreadCrumb offerings, the ME4-2450R, one of two new MIMO BreadCrumbs. The other new model is the ME4-5050S. Rajant BreadCrumb nodes offer best in class transmit power and receive sensitivity. The ME4-2450R has (1) 2.4GHz, and (1) 5GHz, and the ME4-5050S has (2) 5GHz MIMO radios to support a broad range of deployments. The ME4 BreadCrumb supports open-standard IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n protocols to enable data, voice, and video applications. These models provide up to 300MB of bandwidth on each radio. A full-featured network device, the ME4 can operate in extreme conditions and has several mounting options.
The Kinetic Mesh Network can transport voice, video and data from a virtually unlimited range of applications such as fleet management, condition monitoring, high precision drilling and excavating and gas well monitoring to name a few.
"Mining, oil and gas operations today are as reliant upon data and voice networking as they are on shovel, haul trucks, and tankers," said Rajant CEO Robert Schena. "Efficiency, productivity and safety mandate extreme network reliability under extreme conditions, and Rajant Kinetic Mesh Networks are relied upon by discerning mines worldwide that require a fully mobile, scalable and reliable platform for the applications that keep facilities operating. Rajant is the only wireless network that does not lose network connectivity as a normal part of its operation."
One network, high availability
Because mining, oil and gas operations are so geographically dispersed and the applications they deploy are so bandwidth-intensive, many locations are forced to operate multiple parallel networks. Not only does this result in higher operating costs, Often these networks have reached their capacity. This prevents implementation of new applications and inhibits application updates. Overtaxed networks lead to downtime, applications running in isolation from each other and, ultimately, decreased productivity and safety. Rajant’s unique architecture and ability to dynamically select the best (fastest) available frequency and compensate for changing network node status enables operators to run all applications over a single network. In most cases, customers who implement a Rajant network do so without experiencing any application downtime.
Technology applications such as Fleet Management, Machine Health, and High Precision Drilling, Electronic Gas Measurement, Tank Level Monitoring and Location Services represent a significant investment in any mining, oil and gas operation. However, simply installing these applications does not ensure the expected ROI. Maximum application ROI is dependent on reliable wireless communications. Mine operators committed to achieve maximum ROI on technology investments choose Rajant – the most reliable, scalable, and proven networks available.
Rajant’s proven portfolio of networking solutions are widely deployed, providing flexible and reliable network connectivity in the mining, oil & gas, military, first responder, municipalities, service provider and telcomarkets.
