GHH has been manufacturing load-haul dumps (LHDs) for underground mining purposes since 1964. The company expanded its product portfolio in 1974 to include articulated dump trucks, which are widely used in tunnelling construction sites.

GHH Fahrzeuge’s products provide high availability in operation, efficiency, safety and environmental soundness. Currently more than 3,500 are operating worldwide. The product portfolio includes diesel and electric LHDs with payloads from 1.5t to 20t, as well as articulated dump trucks with payloads from 15t to 50t.

GHH Fahrzeuge was founded in 1995 out of the former mining and tunnelling vehicle business of GHH and has belonged to the Schmidt Kranz Group, Velbert, Germany, since 1999. It maintains a well-structured network of partners and agents to serve its customers’ worldwide needs.

Underground mining LHDs

GHH Fahrzeuge’s latest innovation is the LF-10/11 underground mining LHD, currently in operation at Codelco Andina Mine, Chile. This LHD is a completely new design in terms of size, technology and efficiency, which uses the new efficient drive system (EDS) driveline concept.

GHH Fahrzeuge’s latest LHD (LF-10/11) uses the new efficient drive system driveline concept.
GHH Fahrzeuge’s electric LHDs cover payloads of up to 20t in low and standard profile.
The GHH Fahrzeuge LHD LF-4.4 is widely renowned for its reliability in low-profile chrome and platinum operations.
GHH Fahrzeuge provides a range of low-profile LHD underground mining machinery, such as the SLP-12.
The MK-A30 diesel-driven dump truck has proven itself on tunnelling construction sites in Africa, Asia and Europe.

The LHD LF-10/11 combines the advantages of both hydrostatic and mechanic in a new system; the hydro-mechanic EDS equips the LF-10/11 with the highest break-out force and the lowest operating costs in its class.

Electric LHDs for underground mining

GHH Fahrzeuge has been manufacturing electric LHDs for a number of years and offers a wide range of products for all underground applications. The electric LHDs cover payloads of up to 20t in low and standard profile, and also use our new innovative hydro-mechanic driveline concept. With exhaust emission regulations becoming more stringent, this is becoming an important alternative to conventional diesel-driven LHDs.

Low-profile LHD underground mining machinery

GHH Fahrzeuge has extensive know-how of low-profile underground mining machinery. With its competitive range of low profile LHDs, LF-4.4 to SLP-12, payloads of up to 12t can be moved by machines with a height of 1.5m.

In order to serve rising demand, a second assembly line was installed in South Africa in 2007 for the most popular LF-4.4, widely renowned for its reliability in low-profile chrome and platinum operations.

Diesel-driven dump trucks

GHH Fahrzeuge’s range of articulated, diesel-driven dump trucks with a 15t-50t payload capacity offer the customer high availability in operation and reliability. Since 1974, trucks such as the MK-A30 have proven themselves on tunnelling construction sites in Africa, Asia and Europe. In mining operations, low-profile versions can also be operated to accommodate every requirement.

Projects

  • Olympias Gold-Silver-Lead-Zinc Mine

The Olympias gold-silver-lead-zinc massive sulphide underground mine is being re-developed in the Halkidiki Peninsula of northern Greece, Europe. The mine is expected to have a mine life of more than 25 years.
