Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 40.1 million with more than 1,114,000 deaths and 27,532,000 recoveries.

The US and India combined remains the most heavily affected country worldwide, accounting for 40% of the total confirmed cases across the world.

Cases are rising all over the Europe with countries recording record rise in daily new cases.

Even countries in Central and Eastern Europe, such as Poland and Czech Republic, which escaped the major outbreak during the first wave are reporting high number of daily new cases.

Africa is reporting a resurgence of Covid-19 new cases, driven by increases in countries such as South Africa, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, and Ethiopia.

Rising numbers of cases have coincided with easing of restriction and reopening the economy in these countries.
