Ximen Mining has started its 2024 drilling programme at the Brett epithermal gold project near Vernon, British Columbia (BC), Canada.

The company has completed the mobilisation of crews and equipment, including a diamond drill and support machinery, to the site.

The drilling aims to expand the Main Zone's mineralisation southeast and at depth, and explore the potential extensions of the New Discovery Zone.

The drill holes have been designed based on a variety of geological indicators, such as gold soil anomalies and geophysical survey results.

Spanning more than 20,043 hectares, the Brett project is known for its low-sulfidation epithermal-style gold mineralisation within Eocene Penticton Group volcanic rocks.

This site has been explored since 1983, and in the 1990s, a 291-tonne bulk sample was processed, yielding an average of 27.74g/t gold and 63.7g/t silver.

The property exhibits multiple mineralisation zones over a two-kilometre strike, with both bulk-mineable and high-grade bonanza styles present.

In May 2023, Ximen acquired the 608.7ha Perry Creek gold property in Cranbrook, British Columbia from an independent vendor.

The property comprises eight claims and is located less than 1km southwest of the company’s Quartz Mountain property.

Ximen owns 100% interest in three precious metal projects in southern BC, including the Amelia gold mine and the Brett epithermal gold project.

The company also owns the Treasure Mountain silver project, which is currently under an option agreement with a partner responsible for annual payments and project development.

Ximen also controls the Kenville gold mine, which includes surface and underground rights, buildings and equipment.
