Jubilee Metals Group has reported the initial production of copper concentrate from the front-end module at its Roan concentrator plant in Zambia.

This copper concentrate will undergo refinement at Jubilee’s Sable refinery to produce copper cathode.

It is an additional output to the sulphide copper concentrate that is already being produced by Roan's mill-and-float circuit and is currently available for trading in the market.

Jubilee mentioned that the front-end module is scheduled to be progressively increased during Q3 of the calendar year 2024.

The company's copper processing operations in Zambia now include the Roan mill-and-float circuit, the front-end module, and the Sable Refinery.

The Sable Refinery is currently undergoing upgrades to achieve a total in-country copper processing capacity of more than 25,000 tonnes per annum (tpa).

Jubilee Metals Group CEO Leon Coetzer said: “It is an exciting time at Jubilee as we commence delivering on our growth projects.

“The first upgraded concentrate produced from our processing modules is a significant milestone for the business allowing Jubilee to commence filling the available copper production capacity at our Zambian operations.

“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our dedicated team and stakeholders for their support in achieving this milestone.”

Earlier this month, Jubilee commenced operations at its Roan Upgrade project.

The Roan Upgrade project featured a newly built front-end section aimed at improving the processing capabilities at the site.

This new addition enhances the existing milling and flotation sections, boosting Roan's overall capacity to up to 13,000tpa of copper.
