C2C Metals has acquired the Blue Jay Mine Uranium Project in Utah, the second addition to its uranium portfolio in the US.

Located in La Sal Uranium District in Utah’s San Juan County, the property includes 28 mineral claims that span around 560 acres.

This property, acquired via staking, is positioned around 2–3 miles north-west of three historic uranium-producing mines, including the Rattlesnake Mine.

The area is also within or adjacent to the largest favourable channel trend in the western part of the La Sal Uranium Mining District, which is home to many of the district's largest uranium deposits.

This deal follows C2C Metals' acquisition in January of the Melinda Uranium Project in Utah's San Rafael Uranium District.

The Melinda Project encompasses 240 claims over an area of eight square miles and underwent extensive exploration between 1978 and the early 1980s.

During this period, uranium mineralisation was broadly outlined by 375 drill holes conducted by URADCO, a uranium exploration subsidiary of the nuclear utility Pennsylvania Power and Light.

C2C Metals CEO Chris Huggins said: “The Blue Jay Mine Project is C2C's second uranium project as we continue to delve into the private mining database.

“The Blue Jay is another excellent example of high-value uranium properties that have been neglected for over 40 years. Having access to an extensive database allows C2C to capitalise on previous work that has outlined very promising areas with significant uranium mineralisation.

“The project's mineralisation remains open along trend to the west and offers excellent exploration potential.”
