The mining services agreement (MSA) was signed with Stanmore SMC for activities at the South Walker Creek Mine in central Queensland.
The move comes after the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Government opposed Chemaf’s sale of its copper and cobalt mines to Norin Mining.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) marks a step towards accessing the benefits of the Simandou multi-user railway.
The agreement may also extend to other low-carbon fuels in the future.
The transaction awaits approval from the TSX Venture Exchange and is expected to close by the end of October 2025.
The first copper output from the mine is projected for the first half of 2025 (H1 2025).
The acquisition includes two tenements located 120km south-west of Alice Springs.
