A deal was first struck in 2008 but the African nation wants this renegotiated.
The environmental licensing process for El Domo-Curipamba began on 4 November 2021.
The move comes after the expenditure norms outlined in the farm-in and joint venture (JV) deal with EX9 were met.

The licence, E45/6118, is one of nine applications covering an expansive 1,711km² in the resource-rich Pilbara region.
The agreement follows a previous deal for the Bibemi gold licence and marks a significant step in the development of the project.
The deal involved the purchase of 24.5 million shares at C$0.90 per share.
For this acquisition, the company issued ten million common shares valued at $3m (C$4.03m), with each share priced at $0.30.
