Sun Silver has agreed to acquire the fully owned Bayan Springs North Project from Bayan Mining and Minerals, increasing its land position around the Maverick Silver Project in Nevada, US.
The company signed the binding agreement, subject to customary completion conditions, and confirmed the staking of an additional 106 lode mining claims covering roughly 8.86km² directly north-west of the Maverick property.

This gives Sun Silver uninterrupted ownership across an emerging 15km mineralised corridor, consolidating its control of the north-west extension of the Maverick Silver Project.
The land package now includes a continuous 15km stretch of prospective strike, of which only around 2.5km has been drill tested so far.
In recent years, Sun Silver has undertaken drilling, geological relogging and surface mapping at Maverick, which have improved its understanding of the mineralisation controls in the area.
The latest exploration activities, including drilling in 2025, reportedly led to a north-west expansion of the Maverick project’s mineral resource estimate.
One drilling result included an intercept of 70.1m at 160 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent from 255.1m, with a section of 22.4m at 460g/t silver equivalent from drill-hole MR25-211.
Surface sampling at a new Northern Target, located approximately 4.5km north of the current mineral resource, has revealed a 2km anomaly with elevated arsenic and antimony levels.
The company said that these elements are typical of Carlin-style mineral systems and are present alongside features such as silica alteration, decalcification and jasperoidal brecciation.
Sun Silver intends to focus upcoming exploration efforts on determining if the Northern Target forms part of the same mineralising system as the main Maverick deposit, which contains 539 million ounces of silver equivalent.
Sun Silver managing director Andrew Dornan said: “Securing continuous ownership across the north-west extension of Maverick is an important strategic outcome for the company.
“The acquisition and additional claim staking provide Sun Silver with control of a highly prospective corridor that has emerged through our evolving geological understanding and remains largely untested.
“With our 2026 drill programme ongoing and assay results expected shortly, we believe the company is well positioned to continue demonstrating the broader scale potential of the Maverick Silver Project.”
