Australian engineering and infrastructure company RCR Tomlinson has secured two construction contracts with MMG and Rio Tinto, worth a combined $108m.
Under the $73m contract with MMG, RCR will construct a processing plant at the company’s Dugald River project near Cloncurry in Queensland.
Work on the project is expected to begin with immediate effect and is slated for completion in October 2017.
As part of the work, RCR will provide project management and fabrication services, in addition to supplying various structural steel, mechanical and electrical and instrumentation (E&I) components.
The company will also provide construction and commissioning support for a zinc and lead concentrator and associated plant at the Dugald River project.
MMG will be responsible for the plant design and also for supply of key processing equipment.

By GlobalDataUnder its $35m agreement with Rio Tinto, RCR’s work will cover overall project management, construction and commissioning of an 80MWe open cycle power plant at the company’s Cape Lambert iron ore operation in Western Australia.
Work is expected to begin immediately, with completion set to take place in October 2017.
Rio Tinto will supply the design and procurement of major equipment items for the power station.
