Darnley Bay Resources has received the land use permit for its 100% owned Pine Point lead-zinc project located near Hay River in Northwest Territories, Canada.
The company has also entered a drilling contract with a local aboriginally registered company, with operations expected to begin shortly. The first phase of the campaign will include a 3,500m drilling programme, followed by at least two additional phases of drilling throughout the year.
Previous site operators have conducted nearly 1.3 million metres of core drilling at the property at approximately 18,406 drill holes.
Under Darnley Bay, there are 54 undeveloped lead-zinc deposits on property.
The campaign aim is to upgrade some of the historical resources as current mineral resource in accordance with NI 43-101 and identify additional deposits in the under-explored properties in the region.
The company also intends to collect numerous samples in the campaign for metallurgical testing and feasibility study.

By GlobalDataFurthermore, Darnley Bay Resources has acquired additional properties in the Pine Point area. The latest acquisition includes eight claims amounting to 3,490ha, which will get added to nearly 18,000ha already held by the company in this region.
At Pine Point, lead and zinc mineralisation is predominantly found in three main trends at the North Trend, Main Trend and South Trend, where little exploration has previously been conducted.
Darnley Bay has planned to start an induced polarisation survey on the new claims after it received permission for the newly staked property.
