MOD Resources has secured several environmental approvals in and around its T3 copper project in Botswana.
A part of the joint venture (JV) between MOD and Metal Tiger on 70:30 basis, the T3 project includes licence holding in the central and western parts of the Kalahari Copper Belt.
Tshukudu Metals Botswana handles the operations in the country.
The company has secured approval from the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) for drilling on a farm north of T3, increasing the approved area by two times to about 100km² and opening up additional AEM targets for drilling.
With the approval, MOD can drill two additional AEM targets, A15 and A18, immediately.
The DEA has also approved an environmental management plan (EMP) to undertake a planned 20-hole diamond drilling programme at the T1 project.

As part of the diamond drilling programme, the company intends to test underground potential below and along strike from the resource to depths of around 600m.
Meanwhile, Tshukudu has also submitted a project brief in connection with the T3 Dome drilling programme, which will initially focus on testing approximately nine AEM targets including the high priority A1, A2, A3, A4, A9 and A10 anomalies.
Upon receipt of the approval, the company will submit an EMP to the DEA.
Drilling is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of next year.
In a separate development, the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process has started for the T3 mine for which the pre-feasibility study (PFS) is scheduled to be completed in January next year.
