TEC Coal, a subsidiary of Stanwell, has selected BUMA Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama, to continue providing mining services at the Meandu Mine in Queensland, Australia.

PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama is a subsidiary of PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk.

Valued at approximately A$200m ($137.2m) per year, the contract extension will be valid through June 2026.

Under the renewed contract, BUMA Australia will maintain its current operational scale, producing around 35 million bank cubic metres and coal volumes of around 7mtpa.

BUMA Australia has been managing the Meandu Mine project since 2021 and will continue to oversee all aspects of the mine’s operations.

The scope of BUMA Australia’s responsibilities at the Meandu Mine includes blasting, drilling, coal mining, managing coal handling and processing plants, mine planning, overburden removal and site senior executive duties.

In April 2024, BUMA Australia received a contract from Whitehaven Coal’s subsidiary Blackwater Operations to offer pre-strip mining services at the Blackwater coal mine in Queensland, Australia.
