The state government of Queensland has granted Australian firm ActivEX an EPM permit for exploration of Selwyn East.
Aeromagnetic and radiometric data processed by ActivEX has identified a strongly developed structure passing through the central part of the EPM.
The firm will target this structure, which appears to splay off the Mount Dore-Mount Elliott structure and control the shape of the fertile Mount Dore granite in the early field activities.
ActivEX is also planning to carry out an initial inspection of the ground in the next few weeks to formulate a suitable exploration programme for the area.
ActivEX managing director Doug Young said that the new Selwyn East ground complements the firm’s Florence project area where it discovered new copper-gold-cobalt deposits last year.
