The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.82% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.15% share in March 2022, recording a decrease of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 41.18% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Freeport-McMoRan posted 26 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 188.89% over the previous month, followed by RTI International Metals with 18 jobs and a 125% growth. Nucor with 12 IT jobs and Harsco with 10 jobs, recorded a 25% decline and a 400% growth, respectively, while Aditya Birla Management Corp recorded a decline of 62.5% with 6 job postings during March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.14%, down by 11.11% from February 2022. Entry Level positions with a 21.93% share, registered an increase of 47.06% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 21.05% share, down 20% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.88%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
