July 2022 has seen an increase of 13.31% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 6.6% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering an increase of 1.99% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 55.95% in July 2022, a 327.27% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 16.67% in July 2022, marking a 300% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 14.29% in July 2022, a 166.67% rise from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 743.75% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s mining industry during July 2022 over previous month.
ThyssenKrupp posted 97 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 9600% over the previous month, followed by Elval with 18 jobs and a flat growth. Heraeus with 8 IT jobs and Rio Tinto with 7 jobs, recorded a 20% drop and a 600% rise, respectively, while Eramet recorded a 25% increase with 5 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s mining industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 48.81% share in July 2022, a 446.67% increase over June 2022. Greece featured next with a 15.48% share, up 1200% over the previous month. Hungary recorded a 13.1% share, a growth of 214.29% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.38%, up by 225% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with an 11.9% share, registered a growth of 1900% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 10.12% share, up 183.33% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.6%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
