February 2022 has seen an increase of 19.26% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.68% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering a decrease of 0.63% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 49.52% in February 2022, a 5.45% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.24% in February 2022, marking a 36% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.29% in February 2022, a 16.67% drop from January 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 10.23% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s mining industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Polyus posted 34 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 3.03% over the previous month, followed by Anglo American with 19 jobs and a 72.73% growth. En+ Group with 10 IT jobs and ThyssenKrupp with 9 jobs, recorded a 37.5% drop and a 67.86% drop, respectively, while Aurubis recorded a flat growth with 7 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s mining industry
Russia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 42.86% share in February 2022, a 10% decrease over January 2022. The UK featured next with a 22.86% share, up 41.18% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 21.9% share, a drop of 23.33% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.9%, down by 17.72% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.95% share, registered a decline of 8.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 17.14% share, up 20% over January 2022.
