September 2021 has seen a decrease of 12.52% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.91% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 0.28% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 34.48% in September 2021, a 14.29% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 31.9% in September 2021, marking a 37.04% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 13.79% in September 2021, a 45.45% rise from August 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 29.76% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s mining industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Polyus posted 52 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 26.83% over the previous month, followed by ThyssenKrupp with 32 jobs and a 68.42% growth. En+ Group with 14 IT jobs and ChelPipe with 6 jobs, recorded a 22.22% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Anglo American recorded a 16.67% decline with 5 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s mining industry
Russia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 61.21% share in September 2021, a 20.34% increase over August 2021. Germany featured next with an 18.1% share, up 10.53% over the previous month. Hungary recorded a 9.48% share, a growth of 120% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 87.07%, up by 18.82% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 7.76% share, registered a decline of 10% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 4.31% share, down 37.5% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.86%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
