August 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.47% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.98% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.5% over the last three-month average share.
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 35.71% in August 2022, a 10.71% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 24.29% in August 2022, marking a 29.17% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 24.29% in August 2022, an 81.91% drop from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 52.94% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s mining industry during August 2022 over previous month.
En++ Group posted 20 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Elval with 11 jobs and a 38.89% drop. Heraeus with 10 IT jobs and Rio Tinto with 6 jobs, recorded a 25% rise and a 14.29% drop, respectively, while Voestalpine recorded a 400% increase with 5 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s mining industry
Russia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 30% share in August 2022, a 950% increase over July 2022. Greece featured next with a 15.71% share, down 57.69% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 15.71% share, a drop of 15.38% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, down by 62.31% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.14% share, registered a decline of 29.41% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.43% share, down 60% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.43%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
