The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.87% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.05% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.68% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s mining industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Teck Resources posted 11 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 83.33% over the previous month, followed by Teck Coal with 4 jobs and a 55.56% drop. ArcelorMittal with 4 IT jobs and Agnico Eagle Mines with 3 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 50% growth, respectively, while Rio Tinto recorded an increase of 200% with 3 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.55%, down by 43.75% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 27.27% share, registered an increase of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 18.18% share, down 33.33% over August 2022.
