IT jobs accounted for a 4.14% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering an increase of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in September 2022
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 25% in September 2022, a 68.75% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.07% in September 2022, marking a 333.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 24.07% in September 2022, a 100% rise from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 247.06% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s mining industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Ramelius Resources posted 15 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Rio Tinto with 14 jobs and a 133.33% growth. Evolution Mining with 12 IT jobs and AngloGold Ashanti with 10 jobs, recorded a 71.43% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while BHP recorded a 100% increase with 8 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s mining industry
Australia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 79.63% share in September 2022, a 138.89% increase over August 2022. New Zealand featured next with a 6.48% share, up 40% over the previous month. India recorded a 6.48% share, a growth of 600% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.48%, up by 62.96% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.74% share, registered a growth of 88.89% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.78% share, flat growth over August 2022.
