November 2022 has seen a decrease of 9.64% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.02% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.39% over the last three-month average share.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations leads by classification in November 2022

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 36.17% in November 2022, a 70% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.4% in November 2022, marking a 63.33% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 19.15% in November 2022, a 55% drop from October 2022.

Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 17.02% in November 2022, a 100% rise over the previous month.

Top five mining companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 7.69% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s mining industry during November 2022 over previous month.

BlueScope Steel posted 6 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 45.45% over the previous month, followed by Newcrest Mining with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Fortescue Metals Group with 5 IT jobs and Evolution Mining with 4 jobs, recorded a 28.57% drop and a 100% rise, respectively, while Glencore recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during November 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s mining industry

Australia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with an 82.98% share in November 2022, a 15.22% decrease over October 2022. India featured next with an 8.51% share, down 60% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 4.26% share, a drop of 33.33% compared with October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.47%, down by 23.91% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.89% share, registered a decline of 61.11% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.64% share, up 66.67% over October 2022.
