August 2021 has seen an increase of 8.61% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.2% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering an increase of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 32.63% in August 2021, a 59.21% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 26.32% in August 2021, marking a 257.14% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 18.95% in August 2021, a 28.57% rise from July 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 11.58% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s mining industry during August 2021 over previous month.
Polyus posted 41 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 20.59% over the previous month, followed by ThyssenKrupp with 19 jobs and a 61.22% drop. En++ Group with 11 IT jobs and Heraeus with 7 jobs, recorded an 83.33% rise and a 600% rise, respectively, while Anglo American recorded a 20% increase with 6 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s mining industry
Russia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 50.53% share in August 2021, an 11.63% increase over July 2021. Germany featured next with a 20% share, down 13.64% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 9.47% share, a drop of 10% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.16%, down by 21% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 9.47% share, registered a decline of 10% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 7.37% share, down 56.25% over July 2021.
