Ericsson and Ambra Solutions have signed a global cooperation agreement to sell and deliver mission-critical private network solutions to global mining customers.
The companies have so far provided more than 90km of network coverage to eight underground and open pit mine sites in Canada.
Ericsson will serve as a radio partner of choice to Ambra to provide 5G-ready network solutions to automate ventilation systems, real-time personnel and vehicle tracking.
Ambra will also provide remote controlling of machinery such as scoop diggers, hauler trucks and drillers.
Using 5G-ready Ericsson Radio System, Ambra will be able to simplify network deployments with the ability to replace up to 60 Wi-Fi access points with a single Ericsson solution.
Ambra Solutions CEO Eric L’Heureux said: “The Ericsson products are optimal to deliver the most demanding applications used by the mining 4.0 industry.
