Canadian precious and base metals project generator Evrim Resources has announced the acquisition of La Lola low sulphidation gold-silver project in northern Sonora, Mexico.
Located along the northern Sierra Madre Gold Belt, the project comprises a low sulphidation vein field covering 25km2.
The La Lola project is a 6,309ha land package for low sulphidation epithermal gold and silver mineralisation, and includes the La Barra vein that extends for more than 5km on the west side of the property and locally up to 40 metres wide.
A sampling conducted earlier has indicated high grade precious metals within the vein system with a 58gm per tonne (g/t) gold sample from a historic dump and a 424g/t silver sample from hanging wall structures.
Furthermore, drilling or modern exploration has not been taken up so far at the project.
The La Lola project is located 10km southeast of Esqueda town, north of Grupo Mexico’s La Caridad copper mine, northeast of SilverCrest’s Las Chispas deposit, and west of Oceanus Resources’ El Tigre epithermal vein project.

By GlobalDataEvrim exploration and new opportunities vice-president Charles Funk said: “La Lola is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio in the Rio Sonora Valley where Evrim has royalties on the Ermitaño deposit and Cumobabi project, a joint venture with Coeur Mining on the Sarape project, and the wholly owned Llano del Nogal project.
“Evrim recognises this region as highly prospective for epithermal gold and silver discoveries, and our local experience and datasets help generate new opportunities for joint venture.”
A soil survey has returned gold anomalies in soil of up to 43 parts per billion (ppb) gold along the La Barra vein and up to 123 ppb gold in the eastern Adaena alteration zone.
Similarly, a silver anomaly over 500 ppb silver has been found in the hanging wall to the La Barra vein.
Evrim said that it is seeking a joint venture partner for the project.
