Canadian technology company EnviroGold Global has unveiled its plan to build a demonstration plant to process metals from mine waste in Brisbane, Australia.
This facility will commercialise the company’s proprietary NVRO Clean Leach Process, which will be used to process tailings from multiple mining sites.
The company has finalised a manufacturer for the processing unit that will demonstrate the NVRO Clean Leach Process to potential customers including major global mining companies.
EnviroGold has received an indicative quote for the construction and containerisation of the unit, which is significantly lower than initial estimates.
By Q4 of this year, EnviroGold anticipates starting commercial demonstrations of the NVRO Clean Leach Process.
To facilitate efficient testing and cater to multiple clients consecutively, EnviroGold has decided to construct and install the unit at a centralised industrial facility near Brisbane.

By GlobalDataThis location is managed by the EnviroGold technical team, and will serve a large number of clients, as well as allowing multiple mines to send tailings for processing and testing.
This approach circumvents regulatory and environmental permitting issues typically associated with mine site development and reduces the turnaround time for mining company demonstrations.
After processing the tailings at the NVRO demonstration facility, the residues will be returned to the originating mine for disposal.
The data collected from each project’s tailings processing operations will enable customers to advance to scale-up, front-end engineering, design and economic assessments.
Additionally, the plant will provide critical data for the bankable feasibility study, which is essential for the full commercialisation of the NVRO Clean Leach Process.
EnviroGold Global CEO David Cam said: “This is a very exciting development that we expect will decrease the time and cost to begin showcasing the NVRO Clean Leach Process and allow the company to demonstrate its technology to more customers in less time.”
