Canada’s Ontario will sign an agreement with India for the transfer of mining technology which will help increase Canadian investment in India.
Ontario is Canada’s richest province in natural resources. Its mines include the Godfrey Gold Property, Kidd Creek copper and zinc mine and the Placer Dome gold mine.
Ontario Mining Minister Michael Gravelle said that India and Ontario will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to step up Canadian investment and provide technology and equipment.
Canada-India Business Council mining committee chairman Hemant Shah said Canada has 16 world-class mining research institutions that have developed high-tech tools that may help India explore and exploit its mineral resources.
