Pretium Resources has secured all the major regulatory permits that are needed to begin development at its 100%-owned Brucejack Gold project in northern British Columbia, Canada.
The company received a mines act permit from the British Columbia Minister of Energy and Mines, which approved mine plan and reclamation programme to enable commercial production at the site.
The permit will allow the company to construct a 2,700t a day doré and flotation plant, and develop an underground mine, as well as associated facilities and other infrastructure.
Pretivm has also received an environmental management act permit for its project by the British Columbia Ministry of Environment, which governs effluent discharge during construction and operation.
In March, the British Columbia Minister of the Environment and Minister of Energy and Mines issued an environmental assessment certificate for the Brucejack project.
The certificates were issued by the ministers with conditions that the project will be constructed, operated and decommissioned to ensure no significant adverse effects are likely to occur.
