Gold producer Goldplat has commissioned a mill that was replaced in the low-grade circuit of its Goldplat Recovery (GPL) operation in South Africa.
With the same capacity as the original one, the new mill will reduce unplanned maintenance required to keep the original mill operational and enable continuous operation.
According to Goldplat, the mill will process the feed material that was previously planned for the high-grade circuit, which will now be designated to the Rand Refinery project.
At its tailings retreatment carbon-in-leach (CIL) plant, Goldplat has commissioned a new pumping station to help increase the volume of material being pumped to the tailings facility.
GPL operates from a 22ha freehold site based near Benoni in Gauteng and its extraction processes and multiple process lines enable it to keep materials separate.
Goldplat CEO Gerard Kisbey-Green said: "We are delighted to announce the completion of further capital projects at GPL, once again all successfully financed internally despite the cashflow problems experienced throughout the past 18 months, to avoid any potential dilution for shareholders.
