The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.29% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.44% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.19% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s mining industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Teck Coal posted 14 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 22.22% over the previous month, followed by Rio Tinto with 7 jobs and a flat growth. ArcelorMittal with 4 IT jobs and Cameco with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Teck Resources recorded a decline of 75% with 2 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 42.42%, down by 50% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 39.39% share, registered an increase of 62.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.15% share, down 44.44% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 3.03%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
