July 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.51% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.19% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 38.89% in July 2022, a 23.53% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 37.04% in July 2022, marking a 4.76% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.81% in July 2022, a 52.94% drop from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 66.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s mining industry during July 2022 over previous month.
BHP posted 10 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 66.67% over the previous month, followed by ThyssenKrupp with 8 jobs and a flat growth. Orica with 7 IT jobs and Fortescue Metals Group with 6 jobs, recorded a 40% rise and a 40% drop, respectively, while Rio Tinto recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s mining industry
Australia commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with a 57.41% share in July 2022, a 39.22% decrease over June 2022. India featured next with a 20.37% share, up 22.22% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 7.41% share, a flat growth compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.26%, down by 41.82% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 37.04% share, registered a growth of 17.65% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 3.7% share, up 100% over June 2022.
