February 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.54% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.36% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering a decrease of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 46.9% in February 2022, a flat growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.17% in February 2022, marking a 33.33% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 13.1% in February 2022, a 46.15% rise from January 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 12.31% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s mining industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Reliance Steel & Aluminum posted 23 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Aditya Birla Management Corp with 16 jobs and a 23.08% growth. Nucor with 15 IT jobs and Teck Coal with 10 jobs, recorded a 7.14% rise and a 50% drop, respectively, while Teck Resources recorded a 50% decline with 9 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s mining industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s mining industry IT hiring activity with an 82.76% share in February 2022, a 0.84% increase over January 2022. Canada featured next with a 17.24% share, down 41.86% over the previous month. recorded a flat share, a flat growth compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.93%, down by 14.29% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.28% share, registered a decline of 2.38% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.79% share, down 13.04% over January 2022.
