LoadMan

LoadMan - On-Board Scales

LoadMan is a proven on-board payload management technology used in the international mining industry to achieve comprehensive and effective monitoring of data. The LoadMan on-board system is the first to integrate J-Bus, Can-Bus, Bluetooth, WiFi, CDMA or GSM modems with tire pressure monitoring, and LoadMan fleet management software with real-time GPS mapping, all in one on-board in-cab touch screen display.

On-board payload management and data collection GPS software

LoadMan is not just another on-board scale. LoadMan technology allows for the remote gathering of load data records by the following criteria: date, real time, vehicle ID, driver ID, shift, weights, site names, piles by GPS location, commodity or by ore grade or overburden.

For open air / pit mining optional data may include GPS position data at all points during the loading and unloading cycle. A grid-map by GPS coordinates of the mine site can be seen, allowing the LoadMan fleet management software to show recorded position information during the entire loading cycle in real time, if necessary.

LoadMan’s geo-fencing capability automatically identifies the site, commodity, and pile at the loading and off loading site by using the GPS coordinates, all without driver intervention. The real-time tracking and playback features allow operations and management to see the routes traveled by each truck.

Payload management system and fleet management software

LoadMan technology provides a powerful custom reporting and filtering capability, which provides management a tool for creating custom reports using virtually any combination of the collected data. The LoadMan fleet management software offers a built-in capability to communicate with other software utilities. When necessary, additional custom software interfaces can be developed for proprietary enterprise-wide systems for total interoperability.

Complete payload and data management

LoadMan custom touch screen display and supporting technologies offer tools for management and operations that:

  • Eliminate overloading or underloading of haul trucks
  • Monitor tire pressure via Bluetooth from tire stem
  • Provide grid-mapping by GPS coordinates
  • Track all vehicles by ID, driver and shift
  • Collect weights by commodity or overburden
  • Track loading and off-loading coordinates
  • Offer custom touch screen displays with embedded screen writer
  • Are compatible with Bluetooth, WiFi, CDMA or GSM wireless modems
  • Capable of prompting or texting drivers to alert them of a change
  • Offer systems software interoperability for seamless Level 1 and 2 software integration
  • Custom filter using virtually any combination of collected data

Custom touch screen displays

LoadMan touch screens have built-in utilities that allow the display of the desired graphics and prompts. The LoadMan touch screen interprets the custom screen code and generates the desired graphics along with implementing action buttons for specific functions, allowing management to design and develop custom screens with or without driver interaction to meet future data requirements.

Our years of experience have shown that the less drivers are required to intervene, the more accurate the load data collected will be. However, when it is necessary for drivers to confirm or enter data, the LoadMan touch screen can be designed to prompt drivers during the loading cycle or unloading cycle.

Wireless communication options

The LoadMan touch panel comes internally equipped with one of four wireless options:

  • GSM or CDMA cellular modems to Internet
  • Bluetooth
  • WIFI
  • Optional external local area 900MHz wireless network

Custom electronic load cell advantage

LoadMan utilizes custom electronic load cell technology that is engineered to each haul truck model and make. Other payload systems currently offered are one size fits all.

LoadMan technology is, in principle, the same technology that is used by expensive platform truck scales. The LoadMan systems are engineered to measure only primary load, therefore the entire bowl and its material is carried through the load cells. This technology is not dependent on level conditions for loading accuracy associated with on-board scale technology utilizing nitrogen gas pressure systems, which are dependent on absolute level conditions to provide any degree of accuracy.

The LoadMan on-board payload management systems, once calibrated, can maintain on average the original calibration plus or minus 1% to 2% over a 12 month period. Companies that offer the nitrogen pressure systems recommend re-calibrating on a weekly basis. We recommend calibration of LoadMan systems every six to twelve months.
